Here's a geek-out: The DHD set piece, built into what we call the organs (or pianos) up in the control room. They have an unfortunate design feature known as the "emasculator" which juts out into space, making quick evacuations of the control room a thing of high-pitched peril.

Notice the little taped numbers on them indicating the correct sequence for Earth. I'm not sure if I dialed it correctly during the take, which may explain why Rodney ended up in orbit around Betelgeuse with his ankles protruding from his ears...

It's going on late and I've left the actual writing of the blog for last. So now I have to think of something to say.

It's been a banner year for Zelenkistas the world over. No fewer than FOUR, count 'em FOUR convention appearances in the last few months - from Auckland, New Zealand to Springfield, Massachusetts - it's been a whirlwind of fine sci-fi FAN-INSANITY the likes of which will have many generations to come still speaking of it in hushed tones.

I got teddy bears, Tim Tams and Vegemite (of course), embroidery, books, and CD's, letters, artwork, t-shirts, pints of Toohey's and Sam Adams, buttons, pins, postcards, apparel (don't ask), Maori carvings, beads, and more...
.

I may still go somewhere in February, depending on availability and opportunity - before filming of season, gulp, FOUR begins in February.
