Goodbye Reuben Tuesday

The Large Hadron Collider went online today. Big news for Switzerland. Not such a big deal for us on Atlantis. We use ours at work to make Reuben sandwiches.

We all know Rodney and Radek have the Higgs boson locked up in a tower lab somewhere, like a modern Rapunzel. Those guys in Switzerland are looking in the wrong galaxy.

With or without the Thousand Island dressing?

Mmm...nothing goes with science wizardry like a reuben. Also, I love how Jinx has cut right to the heart of the matter - without or without 1000 Island dressing indeed.

Reubens! Of course - why didn't I think of that?

And surely they do include the Thousand Island dressing. Or have the scientists at Atlantis cooked up their own special recipe? ; )

Makes me wonder what else you boys have cooking up in the Atlantis labs!

And, you can cook one gigantic onion ring to go with them!

Aahhh! That's why everyone seems to love the food on Atlantis so much. The secret is out now.

only Reubens? ;P

In episode Doppelganger of season 4, Radek cursed in Czech.
What did he say?? Eh?
Something bad about Rodney?
It's not polite to speak in a language no one knows.
But Radek will be shocked when he realizes that Rodney actually speaks perfect Czech!
Oh yes, he will have a nice surprise when Rodney humiliates him in Czech in front of all the Atlantis' crew!

Isn't the whole purpose of physics to make the world safer for Reuben sandwiches?

It was great getting to "Vanna" for you in the auction. And next time, you need to come in early so we can really make you go through the Southern cuisine experience: eggs, ham, grits, and biscuits smothered in white gravy. :)

Bummer about Zelenka. But I'm sure he'll get to come around again in the movies.

What? You don't do vast amounts of french fries too? For shame ;)

Just saw some LJ entries and the rally, and how sweet it was that you and David H came out with cookies for the fans! :):)

Wow, reubens.

And you're right, Atlantis is SO much cooler than Switzerland. As far as Higgs particles are concerned, at least. They're all chillin' there, who needs a big underground tunnel in Switzerland when you can have reubens with some awesome guys?

Because sandwiches =/= doomsday. Usually.

Hey David,

I was wondering if you could check out my version of the SGA theme and let me know what you think. It takes less than a minute and I'd really appreciate it.

Looking forward to reading more from you.

David!

It was great meeting you at Dragoncon. You are such a fun-loving, warm, gracious person and I really enjoyed meeting and talking with you.

I'm one of Hewlett's Squirrels that took pics with you and the signs....lol.(All your squirrels are belong to me) They turned out pretty good and I sent them to you. I don't know if David H. has seen them yet. *evil laugh*

Thank you for 5 great years of Dr. Z and SGA! He is adorable and has stolen a piece of our hearts. Thank you for making him so real.

Keep letting us know where you will be on TV or in the movies or at cons and we will follow!

Hey David,

Any chance you got some pics of everyone with the last of the filming! It's so much fun to see other sides to the cast and crew!

Those set updates are so gonna be missed. At least we have the movie.....

Yes The Large Hadron Collider will be amazing!!!!
To sum it up, its this awesome giant particle accelerator that promises to solve a huge number of questions about modern physics (from my limited understanding, it will prove or disprove the existence of dark matter, of the Higgs particle, of super symmetric particles, of various properties of singularities, and other crazy stuffs like that.) Also, from my understanding, there are a few alarmists who are saying that the experiments being conducted will result in a black hole and which will eventually destroy the planet (boojah for geocide!)
Now, here's something you might not know: the Condor project (where I work) is actually being used by these scientists in their extensive simulations and computations involved in designing the LHC. Which is totally awesome, since I may be a little bit responsible for the destruction of the entire planet! Knowing little things like this makes me smile. :)
