Where in the World?.... Episode V

Okay kids. You know the drill. The first person to correctly identify where this was taken wins a dreamy picture of Dr Zelenka, featuring creepy eyes-that-follow-you-around-the-room, and a genuine 100% knock-off dollar store Stargate party hat - with adjustable elastic head-band to keep the hat on your head when you are mid-party. Both will be signed by the elusive and mumbly one, as soon as I can find him, and sent to your front door. So be sure to leave an email address, just in case...

Well, I'm pretty sure it isn't anywhere in Czech Republic...

I'll take a guess New York City?

I woud have to agree with paulina..I would have to guess Vancouver.

For no other reason than I would be the first to say it, how about Toronto?

Well don't try to totally stump us or anything.

Um...based on the lovely detail on the building on the left....

Chicago?

*has no freakin' clue*

jolinar said...

Not a clue...somewhere in Germany? Strilim od boku. ;D

Anonymous said...

With what looks like scaffolding, Id guess somewheres of downtown Vancouver.

-lemonchicken ... it wont let me sign in!

Audrey said...

You're an evil man, Dr. Z. :) Hmm....my first guess would be New York City, as someone already said, but hmm...well, no, not LA, too much pretty detail on the building.....

Anonymous said...

Another thought ... its not Gastown (vancouver), is it? The buildings look old.

Meghan O'Connor said...

Hmm. given the lovely fascia on the bldg to the left and the fact that the one on the right looks greenish, I'm going to guess that old hotel and glass building in downtown Vancouver that are right across from the plaza in front of the Art museum. Did I get it? and great perspective, by the way.

Rose said...

Amsterdam? They have nice tall green buildings.

Anonymous said...

Good god! I'm going to go batty crazy with this. I'm going out on a huge limb and going to say San Francisco. With only basing it on the fact that you are on the West Coast and all the other likely locations have been picked. That and it is my home town.

Good luck to whom ever gets this. You deserve it!

Anonymous said...

I'll go out on a limb and say Downtown Seattle, just for the heck of it.

s said...

I agree with moiraeknittoo...I think it's Seattle

dunno why...just a hunch!

(and dang why won't blogger let me log on with my other account!)

suekay :)

Rosehawk said...

Yeah I'm with you moiraeknittoo and SueKay; my first instincts were Seattle or maybe Tacoma.

How soon before we get a hint?!

Kai said...

Well, this has to be Paris, France

cori said...

It'd say somewhere US or Canada

hmmm Los Angeles?

KaziWren said...

Hmmm....totally random guess:

Los Angeles (I'm mainly thinking the downtown area because of it's old buildings).

It's not the McGraw-Hill Building in New York, is it? Something in the greenness, and the brick layout...

First thing that popped into my head was Philidalphia, but that's prob'ly not it... second guess would be Paris... third would be San Fransisco (though I can't be sure, haven't been there in seven years).

Es very clean, so if it's not in Canada (as so many have already guessed), I'll be different and guess Boston.

Very kewl shot, though. :)

(Oh yea, since today is David Hewlett's birthday, and David Tennant's birthday, and your birthday is apparently top secret, I'll just make it a clean David sweep and say "Happy 40 Years on Earth")

Darn--another'n I don't know. I should post some of the pictures I have and see you can guess 'em!

LOL. Just kidding. It is a great shot, though.

Hm, this reminded me a little of my time in Paris. One of the Museum's actually had something that looked like construction on the outside.

Good one though.

I'm going to guess Montreal! Because nobody else has. :)

New York City?

My chiropractor will be pleased with me...the Pilsen district in Chicago?

Anthony said...

I will say Venace... or behind the Ed Sullivan Theatre.

There are probably so many places in the world that look like that.

Francy said...

Hmm... the streets seem to narrow to be Vancouver...

sgeureka said...

That's on Kelowna, Jonas's homeworld, as seen in SG-1's "Shadow Play".

LOL that I recognized it... :-)

sgeureka said...

Hate to correct me, but it just looked similar. But I still guess it's somewhere in Vancouver...

Venice.. heheh now I'm totally just making it all up! darn my travelling life!

I say New York--it looks *awfully* familiar.

Since I'm the first to guess this, I bet I'm wrong. I figure you probably haven't been to Dallas before. However, those building look like some I know in the Dallas-Grapevine area.

heh, and we all thought we were so smart. ;p This is a tough one.
Looks like it could be in just about any major city. hmmm. I'm gonna go with...downtown Saint Louis, because they have some really beautiful old buildings there.

If it's not any that we have guessed could we get a hint please? :D

Novaks25 said...

Since no one else guessed this,
I say Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I don't think it is but we're known for older buildings.

Oookay, so I guess this is not any random little Czech village then ;) Hmm... *thinks* ... nope, don't know this one either, duh!

Mel said...

I've decided I need to do some more traveling--anyone care to join me?

Um, David? Has anyone guessed it yet? (Sorry... terminal curiosity.)

Mystery said...

Ha!! It's Pittsburgh!

Actually I haven't a clue, but no one else guessed it yet. Plus, we do have some pretty cool older architecture around the city. I'm just not sure if any of it happens to be green.

(long time reader - 1st time poster - Big Dr Z fan!! ;-)

You've cleverly not given us any signs or other writing that would give us a clue. Very tricky. It doesn't really look European to me, at least not the parts I have been in, because of the mix in styles. Something about that says North America to me. A large city, probably.

I'm going to guess randomly among cities no one else has yet and say Denver?

Kimberly Eddy said...

It looks like Munich, Germany...

or Frankfurt...

Hum... it definitely has a North American look to it. At least, it doesn't look like anything I've seen in Europe ;)

So, because nobody else said it before: Ottawa!

This is my first participation to the game, how many guesses do we have each??

Yeah, it really does look like Chicago on the L...

Nice shot! I have no clue, and since I won last time I won't guess, but it looks kinda almost like Kansas City. I know it's probably not, but it makes me miss home.

For my guess, I'll hazard someplace in Boston, MA.

Tauri Sith said...

Pretty sure it's not Boston. Would be extremely put-out if it was. Me living there and not recognizing it and all.
Has anyone been close yet, Dr. Z?

Vesica said...

Arg! I realized I didn't leave an e-mail, nor is this silly account set up to allow anyone to get to my e-mail.

I am becoming more and more convinced that really is Chicago (as I already guessed...) though I can't say if it's the Loop (perhaps) or Michigan Ave. It really looks more like it's part of the Magnificent Mile (Michigan Ave).

Anyway: Vesica @ gmail.com

Well, built between 1915 and the 50s, so says my brother by studying the outside of the building to the left, but it's very generic, possiblyMidwest. Heck, could be Pittsburgh, Chicago, Des Moines, or NYC even. I'm going to definitely say, It's on Earth. I know I have that part right, eh? ;) Then again, could be Seattle, Portland OR.

How about Springfield, MA?

Carolann said...

Has no one guessed it yet? Is it Newfoundland?

Ah, Faithchan, you lucky, lucky you.... sigh... Someday I'll see something that doesn't look like Seattle or Vancouver. LOL

Congrats, Faithchan!

A vague wondering Dr Z... In the world of your brain is it "Doctor Zee" or "Doctor Zed"?

I ask because I'm English and even to me it's Doctor Zee.

Anonymous said...

Dr. Zed sounds like Dr. Zee's ominous alter ego.

Anonymous said...

Like Rod and Rodney. They should absolutely do an episode like that for Zelenka ;D.

Rosehawk said...

Hey, congradulations Faithchan, that was one lucky guess!!!!!

I would love to see an alter-ego Zelenka! After seeing some of your other work where you did dark characters, an alter-ego Zelenka would be fantastic to watch! As long as it isn't permenant!

And just as long as they don't give you that...interesting crew cut from Jake 2.0 ^_^;. Drop a hint to JM.
