Welcome to the Future

It's 2010. It is now, officially, the Future. Just this morning I came outside and my car was levitating. People were flying around with jet-packs, going to their white dome-shaped office towers. It all happened so suddenly. The future has arrived. Welcome to it.
.
Actually, it looks pretty much the same outside as it did before the future arrived. The only difference is the Olympic parking restrictions throughout our neighbourhood and the funky new East Van sign. It`s pretty cool. (the sign, not the traffic chaos). Funny how a gang logo has become public art. I used to see that cross spray painted onto walls or as faded tattoos.

.
Teh interweb says January 20th will be my Human Target episode. It`s the one on the plane. Drop everything, tune in, then write a letter to the producers saying I should be a regular character. (I love you guys...)

.
We had a cast and crew screening of Beast of Bottomless Lake last weekend and it was great! I had forgotten much about how the story holds together and have never seen how pretty it looks and how great it sounds. Kudos to Kennedy and Craig. Good work guys. Now, I hope it gets out there and people get a chance to see it. I think it`s a great film.
.

And hey - what luck - filmed a spot for some company yesterday. So coming soon to a living room near you: a jingle I think you may remember from the eighties (those of you who remember the eighties).
.
Talk again soon...

Can you provide an e-mail address for 'make him a regular' entreaties, since we have entered the mail-less future? And Happy New Year from the Kimmels who did NOT get stuck in an ice storm this year and require your audiobook to get them through the dark cold night...

Looking forward to your guest spot! Here's hoping you get lots of work in the New Year!

Wonderful to hear from you again! Will keep an eye out for all of your up and coming performances. Here's to many opportunities in the coming new year.

Ah yes, the future. Before you know it it's here.

Human Target looks interesting. I am glad it's on a night when I can watch uninterrupted!

Hopefully soon we will get to hear how 'The Beast of Bottemless Lake' is going to be distributed. I am looking forward to seeing that movie!

Hummmm a jingle from the 80's..and I was sooooo trying to forget the 80's. Ah well, if it's a commerical then at least we'll get to see you once again on a regular basis on the TV screen!

Looks like we'll get Human Target on Sci Fi in the UK, I like the sound of it :)
I got the audio book Zero Point for Christmas, and it was so good! I really enjoyed Zelenka's adventure. You did a nice job on that, thank you!

As for the producers, if you give me an email, I will definitely write. We love you too you know. :) (By the way, I do remember the 80s. Eye roll please...)

A jingle from the '80s for a cell phone company? I have to admit I'll enjoy the ads, but even with you in them, I'll not be switching back to their service. (Their cell tower coverage in my area is abysmal.)

My daughters and I (ok, mostly me) have been looking forward to Human Target, and knowing that you're in an episode just ups the anticipation! 8)

I give money to that company every month. I'm glad to see they're spending it wisely. I'll be glued to my TV on Wednesday night. Thanks for the heads-up.

Do levitating cars get better mileage? I have a long commute.

Great to hear from you, and well, as a big fan of Beast of Bottomless Lake (aw, come on, the title itself is so cheesy how can one NOT love it?) I can't wait to see it!

Is the ad you filmed for Canada?

Happy 2010 to you!!!

Weren't we all supposed to be living like the Jetsons by now?

I am not leaving my house between Feb. 12 and Mar. 1. That way I will avoid all possible Olympic hassles. This "once in a lifetime" thing has happened to me twice (Calgary 1988) and I hated it the first time.

You asked me to write TPTB about making you a regular character... done. Who knows if they'll listen. If nothing else, I happen to know that someone has a birthday coming up soon, so...
Happy Birthday David!!!

post-Human Target moment:
applause...applause.
But I was fully expecting that after the plane landed and emptied we would zoom in on you still in your seat in painkiller-land, blissfully unaware that anything in the flight has gone awry.
I would have laughed.

Okay, just gone done watching Human Target. Nice job, though I have to be honest, I wanted to see you have a much more interactive and busy part in the show.
At least your character didn't die in the end so maybe a fan campaign to make you a regular can work! :)

I had to laugh for a moment as your character made me remember in Toronto telling you how much I hate to fly and you were pretty nice about telling me how safe it was and all I could do was roll my eyes.

Best of luck for future.

I loved the impossibly slow turn of your head when Chance sat down next to you, and all that you did with your eyes before you even said anything. The dopey little smile was cool too. Definitely the best part of the show!

Hi, David!

Loved seeing your familiar face on Human Target this past week. Hope we'll see more of you soon!

Best wishes!

David, some of us have been chatting about you on the Dr. Radek Zelenka/David Nykl Appreciation Thread (go figure) on GateWorld Forum. We've sort of come up with a wish list for what we'd like to see you in. Here are some (not all) of the ideas:
NCIS (as a regular),
A sitcom like The Odd Couple starring you and the other David, and
a blooper reel.
Do you have any bloopers that you could share with your fans via YouTube pretty, pretty please? *bats eyelashes shamefully* (And if you don't have any, I would certainly settle for a personal video of you acting silly.) =:3
