Back to Work...

Is it May already? Where has the time gone?...
.
I'll tell you where it's gone - to work. A flurry of little jobs came my way this past month, which is nice considering McGillion's got himself a cameo in a recent blockbuster. I gotta keep up!
.
I finished a great little short called "Voodoo" courtesy of the Kickstart program and Mark Ratzlaff and Co. Quite fine. Worked with some lovely and talented actresses. Ali Liebert and Camille Sullivan. (above) Lucky me.
.
And a commercial. Well kind of a commercial - a PSA even. Those of you in Canada will see it soon enough. Just shot it on Friday. We recommend you don't plan on drowning. Just don't.
.
And auditions, of course. Oh and some directing too! That's going to be fun. I'm just prepping my directorial return to the Chemainus stage with the stage adaptation of the Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, which I'll be directing later in June. That'll be fun.
.
What else - spoke to Joe Mallozzi today - he told me about the Atlantis script and some "chunky" Zelenka scenes coming! So don't despair, ye Atlantis faithful. There's still more Zelenka coming!!

congrats on the work, and woohoo on more Zelenka! It just wouldn't be the same without you. Please do let us know when you have theatre things, as nearby fans could be convinced to come show their support. :) May you have a busy and prosperous summer.

Excellent! I'm so glad to hear that you've been getting work and keeping busy. And I'm extra happy to hear that there will be more Zelenka!

It never hurts to have work. Here's hoping you stay employed for a very long time. And it would be lovely to see you at ComicCon this summer!

Work is a Good Thing, and more Zelenka is FANTASTIC! YAY!

Good to hear that you've got a relatively full schedule of work! And glad to hear that Dr Z's getting pulled out of the attic too!

Great to hear you've been keeping busy. I might see you when you're visiting Australia in July.

Hey, thanks for the lovely update! Love the pics! It's great to hear you've been keeping busy. And just one of these days we will actually get to see some of your work here in the States!

It just wouldn't be SGA without Zelenka so it's great that you are going to get some decent screentime!

Hope to see you in Toronto this summer...now if I can just get the details worked out......

Great to see you being busy. I hope your TV PSA ends up on YouTube so us U.S. folk can see it!

Work = good! You look scrumptious in period costume in those pics, and it's fabulous you have a director's gig coming up, too. Plus more Zelenka! \o/

You've got staging descriptions for the Saturn V on....schematics for a wraith dart? Is that what that is? Did somebody just put random space-ish text there? :)

(Glad to hear you'll be in the next Atlantis movie!)

So glad to hear you're doing well and keeping so busy!
And knowing Dr.Z has a juicy part in the SGA movie is icing on the cake!
Take care!

Hi, David!

Thank you so much for your update and for sharing your lovely photos.

I just saw Star Trek tonight and clapped when Paul was on the screen...

Looking forward to seeing MORE of you in Stargate Atlantis, on TV, in the movies, in a theater...

Best wishes!

Great!
That is good to hear - even if it's unlikely for us Europeans to catch a glimpse of that stuff (probably until the SGA movie, whenever that will be).
Maybe "Voodoo" will be screened at some festivals over here?

Please keep us updated whenever you find the time - and have fun with the directing!

Thanks for the update & congratulations on the flurry of work!!

I'll change those summer drowning plans then...

No need to dispatch Gil Grissom to find you, then. Good - he wasn't returning my calls anyway.
Lost all interest in drowning after reading THE PERFECT STORM.
Thanks for resurfacing, pun intended.

Good to hear you've been busy. Especially exciting about the directorial work for Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe. Ah, if only I lived near Vancouver - I'd be there to see it.

Thanks for sharing the pictures too!

I'm glad those slave drivers finally gave you a chance to catch up with your fans. I figured you must have been busy when there were no new posts. And I'm tickled to hear that Dr Z is coming back. Maybe then I can take a break from writing my own SGA episodes. TV just isn't the same without it.

I was hoping that the lack of bloggage for the last month meant that you were super busy with real stuff, so I'm glad to hear that I was right! And more Zelenka!

I am now officially happy. 8)

Once they start filming SGA you must post photos. And photos from your other projects too of course - I live in Connecticut, so I won't get to Vancouver to see the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. And random goats are quite acceptable too.

Good to hear that you've been busy. Madison is watching a lot of Atlantis reruns. She'll be happy that there is more Zalenka coming.

Sounds like you are going to have a busy summer.

Unfortunately I can't get to see your work in Vancouver, your appearance at Polaris in Toronto or Downunder in July. So if you have some free time why not pop in to Atlanta and Dragon*con? Just think about how much fun it was last year. : ) : )

Being Canadian, I will definitely keep a look out for your PSA.

((((HUGS))))

looks like that piece is set in the '40s or '50s. cool!

Glad to see you will be in the new Atlantis movie! I love that SGA won so many awards! (and they cancelled it! Really???*sigh*)

It was great to see you at the Creation con! Got to shake your hand and talk to you for a sec in the lobby! You are such a truly nice person and are so gracious to fans...thank you for that! I hope you are still working on coming to DragonCon! Try to get David H. to come with you. I think he's afraid of that con! LOL

Hope to see you there!

Hoorah! Glad to hear some news on the Atlantis movie. Hope everything goes smoothly for you this summer.... and say those blueprints look suspiciously like a wraith dart.....

Good to hear you've got work to keep you busy! Wonderful pictures. If I can get my passport changed in time, perhaps I'll make a trip to see the play. I've wanted to visit the Vancouver area (and I know Chemainus is on the island) for years and had thought I was going to last year until my husband's sickness was discovered. We'll see. But the best of luck and much fun to you in directiing it.

Dare I ask what the second photo is? I can see the first and last just fine, but there's a content filter on the wifi I'm using at the moment, and it says it's blocked due to the category "nudism"(?).

Hooray for work and more Zelenka coming up!

I took an Atlantis personality test today and apparently I'm like Zelenka, which made my day :D

YAY I was just talking to someone today about Atlantis. I was really wondering if we'd see more! :)

Glad you've been busy working. I look forward to more Zelenka.

I always look forward to read some new comments from you. Almost thought, you ran away to work somewhere off world! But now... finaly - new info, new pics (and new round glasses, as I can see)!
It´s so nice to know, you have so much to do again! (It´s good for you and even better for us! :-)

ZELENKA IS BACK?!! Yohooo!!! Yes! So this is the best news I heard this year! (And you say it just so! Just "What else?" somewere in the end.) It was unmistakable! Zelenka has to be in the movie - to safe Earth once again! Just hope, he´ll survive it!! Keep us posted!

About blockbusters... o yeah, I´m Trekkie in the first place and Paul´s "very short štěk" in Star Trek was refrigerant. And what about you? When will we see YOU in Star Trek? :)

Btw. did you seen yourself here? http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/746/30047550.jpg

David, good luck at everything you do!!

I'm slow on the commenting uptake, but I blame the fact that I had to go check out the Chemainus website. A friend of mine has worked on several shows for that theatre so we'll be coming out to see "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe". I'm really interested to see that adapted to a children's play format.

Glad to see you've been so busy, I haven't seen the PSA but perhaps it's slow in coming to the West Coast. Thanks for the update!

Hey way cool, you're doing another Zelenka audio book - Stargate Atlantis - Meltdown!

Zero Point was great! This sounds even better!

Migraine Mama said...

I'm really glad to hear you're busy-especially with some Zelenka work. (He truly is one of my favorite characters.) And as always, I'm looking forward to your next post. - D

Work is good.

More Zelenka is good!

Not drowning is good. There's a reason I go camping in the desert.

David, if you have time (I know it's sparce), there's something about you at http://thehiccuppinghomemaker.blogspot.com/. I hope you find it flattering, humourous, and a bit funny. Thanks.
