Two doctors and a wraith walk into a bar...

...and the bartender says "what'll it be?..."  and the Wraith goes: "I'll have the tuscan chicken quesadilla with the tabouli salad" and the first doctor says "I'll have the Huevos Rancheros and a coffee" and the second doctor goes "Do you have rye toast?".
.
...and that's all of the joke that I can remember.
.
Meet Aaron Craven a recent Wraith Commander and all around television visionary (r), and the unbuttoned and unHINGED Paul McGillion (l), mid crosswalk on Sunset. It's finally stopped snowing in Los Angeles and the sun has come out, so we've been going around the neighbourhood sitting in people's lawn furniture, just to check out, you know, how it feels.
.
The Simpsons have a star on the boulevard. All is right.
.
Speaking of rye toast, Gehry's Disney Concert Hall  is quite an awesome building. It sits like a burning element in downtown L.A. I didn't go inside, but walked all around it. The sun hits it and it illuminates like a hot ember. Many modern buildings are cool, watery - they flow and soothe, but this building starts fires and browns delivery vans. Very neat. Good metaphor for a philharmonic orchestra.

Ooh, hello! I just popped by randomly because I know I missed a post ;) Love the new pics. The joke might need a little work, though :-) That's a lovely Wraith you've got there... :)

Oh no. You and Paul McGillion hanging out just can't be good....

:)

How's the pilot season going? Hopefully things are going well for you.

Heh, well, yes, joke needs work ;)

Neat photos. Hope pilot-hunting is going well. At least you have decent weather (speaking from someone in 12 degrees having to chisel ice off car) ;)

Ah! So the plan for world domination is taking shape, and the Wraith are in on it. Hmmm...
Sounds as if you had fun. And I am totally envious of that sunshine. All we get is another cold front.

Apropos - any news from the audition front?

Jinx said...

See, I had heard it a different way...it had to do with what the Wraith had to drink... :)

Find any favorite lawn furniture? Or rearrange it in a Feng Shui sort of way? (Or hide their lawn gnomes?)

Cool pics, & thanks for the updates. Good luck in the hunt!

hahaha! Funny joke! Looks like some great weather...wish that was the east coast!

Awesome pictures! I especially love the street shot of the three of you. Millions of people in L.A.? Bah, must be small town. :D

Best of luck with the pilot season!

You better not joke about the Wraith, that could be dangerous! (But... a Wraith involved in your world domination plan? Wraith-astic! I'll vote for you!)

Oh! Sunshine! After months I know what that means again, the sun rose over the lovely Czech country and melted all the snow. Yippie!

More middle-of-the-street photos - you may be too trusting of these Los Angeles drivers. Plus, if Officers Reed and Malloy catch you, they will haul you off to the pokey, Adam-12 style.
Be well, and remain undented.

The pics are charmed, especially that futuristic Concert Hall (jsem z muzikantské rodiny :).
About weather - how Nellie says, sun arrived finaly in Czech too, but the weather forecast claims, the snow will return next week again. Ach jo. Winter really takes time this year.
And that joke... ehm... mno. Well, it's the thought that counts. :)

Not a single word about auditions yet!! Any success? Tell us!

Who asked about rye toast?

And how's Cars-- Paul doing?

Two Mad Scientists do Los Angeles?

Ooh, that reminds me! Have you seen Dr. Steel's website yet? Very cool music.

Glad you're still updating the blog so we can check out what you are up to! Looking forward to seeing you in something new on this side of the pond - if it ever gets here! Nice to see you are keeping in touch with your friens from the big A! Say hi from me! :)

Sounds as if you, the other good doctor, and the wraith, aren't getting into too much mischief. ; )

So what was the verdict on the various pieces of lawn furniture after all your testing?

Lapis said...

Not sure LA is big enough to handle all 3 of you. I'll survey the damage tomorrow and wave as I pass thru on my way up to Ventura. But I don't pick up hitchhikers.

Rosehawk said...

OMG, this is just what I needed at the moment, somthing to bring a nice smile and a good laugh!

LOL. Looks like you are having fun. Hope auditions are going well for both you,Paul and of course the new guy to your blog..Wraith Aaron.

Wow, checking out people's lawn furniture - sounds like an interesting pasttime!

I think that my part of Scotland (Perth) is a little too conservative for a building such as the Disney Building.

Hope that the good weather is not too much for you. Make sure that Paul, with his peely wally Scottish skin, wears his sun block.

:-)

looks like an epic adventure! watch out for that wraith though. ya gotta know hes plotting something XP

Whoa, that is one odd-looking building! Glad you're having fun in LA!

Hi, David.

Thank you for the update and the handsome photos.

Hope auditions are going well for everyone involved, but more for you, Paul and Aaron than anyone else. Well, maybe some others of the SGA/SG1 cast too.

:P

Best wishes. Happy sunshine!

I think you might want to write down the entire joke next time. Ya know, to keep the suspence ^^
Nice pictures. Dramatic as always

The adventures of two doctors and a wraith...that sounds like a smash hit comedy series right there. Add a couple of pink plastic flamingoes...voila!

Anyway, glad you have some sun, down here in the southern hemisphere, it's sadly gone missing. Does not bode well for moving day tomorrow. :)

In which bar can one meet two Doctors and a Wraith, if they're in LA for a few days? :-P

You should pitch 2 Doctor and a Wraith to SciFi and see if they want to pick it up. Everybody knows the real heroes of SGA were Zalenka, Beckett and random Wraith.... Good to hear from you again. Hewlett has been lacking in his updating since the show ended.....

That building looks like something out of an X-Men film.

Wish I was in sunny LA. Tired of rainy Vancouver.

Sunshine! The only sunshine I've seen lately has been from my trusty full-spectrum light box +2 vs. depression. Yeesh.

Sounds like you're having a great time in LA -- I wish you and Paul all the very best of luck down there. With that much awesome in one place, the universe is sure to implode.

You are awesome! Have a great time getting a new fun role!

More lovely pics. : )

This sucks you were in Atlanta last year and I couldn't get there. Now you are a guest at Toronto Trek and I can't go because I am going to Dragon*con.

Are you trying to avoid me? LOL!!!

Hopefully one of these days I will get to thank you for your great work as Zelenka.

I am waiting to see what else you have in store for us. : )

I also have an amusing joke:
(hope, my misery english translate will be understandable)

One man walks into an airport terminal (full of cameras), goes to a telephone box and makes a call: "I have a bomb and I am going to touch it off."
He was found and arrested almost immediately, and one reporter asks him, what's going on here? And that man answers (among others): "I cooperate with american president and I´m a secret Stargate-keeper".

And now the funniest part.
It realy happened!!! Yesterday! (2009/03/06, Praha, Ruzyně)
Report in Czech: http://tn.nova.cz/zpravy/cernakronika/odpalim-na-sobe-bombu-hrozil-muz-v-hale-ruzyne.html

Thank God, you are in L.A., David! It looks like your Stargate-colleagues on the east continent are going to behave a little strange. Maybe some alien virus?
:)

What the HELL! Oh my GOD!

I should watch news more often...

Hey, but you should have never said that, now they all will think we're a nation of total freaks, hihi...

Well, we are, I guess...

Anyway, I believe the Wraith must have caused this... heh...

Good luck in pilot season! Great pictures too!

Hey David,

Have you ever thought of doing a Q&A on your blog?
You could do a regular one where bloggers could ask you questions which would be great for those who don't get to see you at conventions - best thing is you can pick and chose which ones to answer
Or .........
You could have some fun and set a theme for the type of questions, bloggers might have to research a bit and then see what kind of questions you get and then answer in the upmost sincere humor or not so much humor that you can come up with!

You could even have some fun with some of the movies you have coming out like The Beast of Bottemless Lake!

or you can just ignore this and I will go back to my ice house I built from the last snowstorm we just had!

i'm pretty sure the wraith jokes always mention sucking

Oh my! That building is absolutely stunning! :-0 And something like that in Los Angeles? Would expect it more in New York or Berlin. Beautiful!
Thanks for sharing the pictures, and I didn't know about that building (I'm from Belgium), so thanks for that too ^^.

Love how you managed to put your Imdb page in the "I" letter. ;-p
How is your french by the way? Le parlez vous couramment, ou est-ce devenu un vestige? ;-p

Merci pour vos toujours agréables posts, qui nous font un petit peu voyager, quel bonheur. ^^

Bonne journée! :-))
