Getting Even More Famouser

Hello? Anybody still out there? Yoohoo?....
.
It's nice to see some of you guys still keeping up with this irregular little blog - sporadic as it may be. It's a pleasure to have you here.
.
It's pilot season in Los Angeles, which is like the actor's "Incredible Race", a no holds barred fight for the thirty jobs out there. Whew. Better watch out, Leo and Johnny, I'll be in the room too. And I came by zebra.
.
The sun is sure a nice change. Not having seen it since October up in Vancouver, being in L.A. is like coming out of a matinee of a David Lynch film - blinded, confused and warm inside. Hard to describe. (By the way his weather reports are brilliant.)
.
Went to rubberneck at the Oscars last night (no I'm not going to put that stupid copyright thingy beside the word) and got as far as the police blockade (above). Apparantly they didn't see my work in Crackerjack 2. Uncultured lugs.
.
Spring's coming kids - billions are being spent, the birds will soon return, and short skirts will be making a comeback, I'm told. Something's bound to happen.

  1. Good luck with the auditions David - we all have our fingers crossed for you. Ahh.... LA.... I'll be there in 6 weeks... for a whole day before I head up to Vancouver. But after a week I'm headed back to LA again for a couple of weeks, then back home to Australia after that.

I enjoy keeping up with your blog, you're actually one of the more regular bloggers out there!

Do you have any conventions coming up?

*Whimper* I had to sign up with a wordpress account just so I could comment on your blog... I don't use (and don't want to) any of those other blogging system... I miss being able to comment with my own name and URL!

  2. Sure, we're still here.
Thanks for the update and the pics!

Nice zebra. Hope it will help in the battle against all those hyenas out there.

What does one do to wish an actor luck for his auditions in your part of the world? In Germany, we have the strangest superstitions, like wishing someone to break his neck and leg, or spitting over his shoulder and saying "Toi Toi Toi". Anyway, that's what I (virtually) do here. :)

  3. I've got a job interview tomorrow, and I'm sure hoping my somestimes-unreliable car doesn't break down, because I really don't want to try riding a zebra with my only good skirt...

I am still enjoying this blog immensely, and I wish you the best of luck in L.A. Who knows, we could be reading the blog of the next Hugh Jackman? Perhaps, perhaps.

    Ka kite ano. :)

  4. Hey, you came by zebra, that's a win in my book. Good luck with the auditions -- I miss being able to see you on tv on a regular basis.

  5. Hallooo back at ya! See, when you set Blogger to follow, it alerts me to new posts & I don't have to lurk! Handy little tool. :)

    Lovin' the zebra car....

    ReplyDelete
  6. You must expand further on the zebra car. So cute! Is this yours?

And I scoff with the absurdity of the LA police for not recognizing that you totally belonged at the Oscars.

Break a leg on your auditions. Let us know how it goes.

  7. My googlereader is lit up by your posts every time :D Break a leg at those auditions! I'll be crossing my fingers for you.

  8. Of course we still pay attention! It looks like you had fun, and certainly more fun than the rain we're getting in Seattle right now. yes, please tell us more about the groovy zebra! And any neat options on the job front... After all, we're YOUR fans, not just because of Dr. Z. (Although we miss him terribly.) ;)

  9. It would be nice to see you on TV again, and hopefully not as a walk-on. *crosses fingers for you*

    The zebra is most stylish.

  10. Seeing you update still makes me happy!!

Good luck with all that audition stuff, we're still keepin our eyes peeled for new and exciting Nykl roles. :)

  11. Still here and reading! Good luck with the auditions!

  12. Your blog is on my Yahoo front page, right at the top so I don't miss when you post. They are always interesting!

I had a black car like your zebra-took me all over the place for 13 years!

I really enjoyed your pics of Ireland. Got any more?

May every director in town want only you for his/her latest project! And break a leg turning out the performance of a lifetime!

  13. Hee! I love the zebra car! Good luck with the auditions -- I know I'd love to see you on my TV on a weekly basis....

    ReplyDelete
  14. ;_;

    You <3.

I am so bummed out about not having more SGA to watch, and somehow, seeing these weekly marathons of Battlestar Galactica is rubbing it in.

I have to go to a class now, but I thought I would comment. I miss Zelenka >.< Please don't take that in the "I am/am not Spock" sense, though. :3 You don't have to speak with an accent, we'll always listen.

  15. I would much rather see you onscreen than Leo or Johnny! Plus, your ride is way cooler, too.

    Good luck!!!

  16. Still here!

Break a leg on the auditions!

Love the car! And the other pictures you shared.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Wow. Sheep, the other animal I promised not to talk about any more, and now a zebra! I see your personal ZOO is expanding!

And... oh yes! Zlom vaz! :D

    ReplyDelete
  18. Of course there's still people here. What, do you think we're heartless or something and would abandon you? Nah, we're pretty cool folks.

Hope you get something good at the auditions and keep coming to the cons for us fans! :D

    ReplyDelete
  19. OK, the car? Fabulous. Those cops totally do not recognize a serious Star Car when they see one.

And the weather is lovely, isn't it? Down here in San Diego we get even less rain than La La Land does - the sun is shining and somewhere Stu Segall is shamelessly plotting to throw some starlet to Shamu. (Remember, we do have TV studios down here.)

    Hope you find work soon!

  20. Good luck on finiding a good job. Maybe you'll even get something mainstream and then there'll be more then the 20ish people who regularly post here...just maybe
Anyway, I love the Zebra car...it's something you noramlly don't see, at least where I live!
    Until your next post

  21. That would be absolutely fantastic if you got a regular role on another show! I love your acting! Good luck!

And don't think we'll EVER abandon your blog :) You can't keep us away *muhahahahaha*

  22. That car is a thing of beauty. Good luck with auditions!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yet another fan here hoping that you get some proper, preferably recurring, (or even starring!), parts.

    ReplyDelete
  24. This fan is still here too (more silent then ever though).

Best of luck with the auditions!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Still in place and still reading:)

    ReplyDelete
  26. As long as you keep blogging, I'll be here reading! :) Good luck with your auditions. I hope you get lots of great roles. I miss seeing you on my TV screen.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yes, you even has some noobs listening in. Your funny commentary and pics have us hooked.

Hope you get in on some good auditions - break a leg!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm still here too, but been a bit of a lurker lately. I haven't had nearly as much internet time as I used to have.

I can't wait to see you in a new show! You'll definitely have to keep us updated. :)

Keep sharing the pictures too. I love getting to see where you've been.

  29. Hi, David!

Thank you for the photos! :)

Best wishes on the auditions -- break a leg!

  30. Hi David,

It's Mare, from Rhode Island !! I am out here and following faithfully just so you know !!!

Love your new hair cut and the zebra car is awesome !!!

Good Luck with L.A. Can't wait to see you regularly again!! You'll do great !!!

When are you coming out East?????

    ReplyDelete
  31. *waves* Love your updates, infrequent as they are. Even better than having you in my living room on Friday nights!

We've had sun here out in Vancouver the last couple of days! Spent a gorgeous sunny day wandering around the Pegasus galaxy (aka Lynn Canyon Park) on Saturday.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Bwahahah! Loved the zebra!

Thanks for the photos. Don't get sunburned ;)

I know that there are less pilots being filmed now, due to the crappy economy, so I'm wishing you the best of luck. Heh, you'll probably get a role which will film in Vancouver! (which would be good for you) Oh yeah, FRINGE is going to Vancouver. Might be work there! :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Your post made me think of a poem by Loy Ching Yuen that ends "Sit quietly behind your wooden door. Spring will come again."
    He didn't mention the skirts.
    Probably a Tao thing.

    ReplyDelete
  34. What, a zebra?! First a goat, then sheep, all these herd type animals, you must not be kiddin' that world domination may be in your future!

I use to work for a company that made graphics on vehicles and while I saw alot of really zany designs, a zebra striped vehicle was not one of them, ahhh those Californians.

Hope auditions go well, it would be fun to see you in your own sitcom or maybe a role on 24 or Heroes!

And keeps thinking, Spring is less then a month away.........

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ah, David! Don't you know the devotion of a scifi fan? Fans fondly remember a guest appearance. You were a recurring character, of course we'll be keeping an eye on you.

I'd love to see you on TNT's Leverage.

Of all the Atlantis folk, not counting the daily writings of Mallozzi, I think you've been blogging the most. Thanks for the photos and words. Thanks for remembering us.

  36. From one unemployed to another...

Pound the pavement and kick ass even if you have to sneak in the side door.

Good luck to you and break a leg or something less vital.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Good Luck with Auditions! Like everyone else on here I love the zebra car.

As far as getting into the Oscars apparently the police have never seen SGA otherwise they would have known that you saved the world (like 5 times)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Always lurking! GeekBoy wants to know when your monster movie is coming out, BTW. I just reluctantly deleted Atlantis from the series list on my DVR. It felt disloyal, somehow. I think having every possible DVD makes up for that, though.

Good luck in the free-for-all? Do they say "break a leg" in the world of TV pilots?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hi David!
I'm here and glad to read your update!
Good luck with the auditions, hope to see you soon in something cool!
Take care and enjoy not so sunny lately California!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Definitely checking here for updates, even if you need to keep them sporadic. ; )

Good luck in the race of pilot auditions. Do keep us posted on progress when you can. And enjoy that lovely weather while you can.

So is there a story behind the zebra car? Do tell, do tell!! Just seeing it in the photo made me smile.

  42. David,
I have a niece that is a car show model and she usually wears a slinky dress when she drapes herself across a car. Don't get me wrong the t-shirt and jeans work for you but I think you could pull off a slinky dress.

I will continue to check your blog so post when you can.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'll definitely be keeping up with your blog. Yes, I did find it because of your role as Dr. Z, but you made him so awesome. Also, your photos are awesome.

Good luck with the auditions! I hope we'll be able to see you in some new roles soon.

That zebra car is just crazy lol

    ReplyDelete
  44. Love the zebra! Very cool! Makes my little 'Puddle Jumper' look pretty plain. And, yes, I named the car after the ships on Atlantis due to the fact it is a similar shape and due to it's techy stuff it feels like being in a space ship.

The best of luck with the auditions and I am confident that you will soon be working on a major project that will have all of us very excited.

    ReplyDelete
  45. best of luck with the auditions david! and yay for the sun! oh god i miss it.... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  46. hi there! well, february was a bit of a sneak and rushed past me in the halls so that's why i missed wishing you a happy birthday in a timely fashion. i'm sure there's another time travelling puddle jumper kicking around that i can go rectify the problem. ;)

best of luck to you in your auditions in LA, it snowed here in Vancouver so maybe you got some impossiblly awesome cool part! at the least, you'll be happy to be someplace with a passing acquaintence of warmth.

obviously your readers are still here, as the many comments attest, so thanks for keeping up the reports!

  47. Ahoj Davide,

    I´m new here...
Překonala jsem nedůvěru k bloggům, protože tenhle Váš je moc fanj!
My English is not very good, I´ll do my best, anyhow... I´ll better write mostly in Czech. But what I have to say in English - to you and to all in this blog-family: It´s great! I very enjoy every new word and picture! :-)
Dr. Zelenka mi moc chybí, ale jste skvělý v každé roli, takže držím palce při konkurzech... ať je těch rolí co nejvíc a ať Vás práce na nich baví! ;)

  51. Go north of the arctic circle, and you'll experience the true meaning of no sun. ;) (Or, you know, just don't, and avoid the vast chance of getting frost bites.) Norwegian spring = May
